Hello Overclockers UK Forum members!!

This is my first post on this forum, and any forum for that matter.

I have been planning on building a HTPC for a while now, and following the alcohol induced ebay purchase of a Silverstone LC19 case, the ball is now rolling.

My main goals for this project are low noise and power consumption. This is so that i can leave it running 24/7 acting as a media server to stream content to other devices. I will be running XBMC, iTunes, streaming services (lovefilm, netflix etc.), playing blurays and internet browsing.

Initially, my goal was to build a completely fan-less system, but i think most fan-less motherboards would struggle with streaming HD content, especially if Ive got loads of thing running in the background (i like to multitask). I also don't have space in the case for big heatsinks. (im still open to recommendations for a fanless solution)

My current train of thought is to go with a low power i3 Ivy Bridge (3220T, dual core 2.8GHz). This CPU has a power rating of only 35W TDP so meets the low power requirement.

Finding a quiet cooling solution is going to be a challenge given the limited space available, though the low power dissipation of the CPU should allow for a low speed fan.

My current wishlist of components is as follows (none of this is set in stone):

Case Silverstone LC19 (with 120W PSU)
CPU i3-3220T (Ivy Bridge, dual core, 2.8GHz, 35W TDP)
MoBo ASUS P8Z77-I Deluxe
RAM 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz Low Profile
Graphics Intel HD 2500 (integrated on CPU)
SSD 120GB SanDisk Extreme, 2.5" SSD
Data Drive 3TB Western Digital Caviar Green
BluRay Sony BC-5550H-01 Slim BluRay Drive
CPU Cooler Reeven Vanxie RC-0801 Low Profile CPU Cooler

If anyone has any comments on this setup - or any of the individual components - they would be greatly appreciated!

I'm thinking of doing some mild modding like braiding the cables and replacing the grill on the top with a perspex windows (before anyone mentions cooling, i have a plan...) but i'm not going to worry about any of that till Ive got all the components and can start mocking thinks up on Inventor.

As i mentioned, this is my first post on a forum, so I'm looking forward to getting some input from you guys.
