Hi all,

I am looking to build myself a new PC, hopefully next week when I get home from Uni. I'm aiming for a machine which should be able to games at a reasonable level for around £650-700. As this will be my first attempt at something like this I have lurked around here for a while looking at what people have suggested for similar costs to see what seem to be the most popular choices. ;)
Eventually I came up with the following:

I would be interested to know if anyone has any recommendations for things to improve on.

Would I be better off going with a better PSU, such as this:

and dropping the cooler to something like the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7, or would it be fine as it is?

Many thanks in advance,
JamesAC

For an extra £6 it would probably be worth going for the retail version of the 2500k rather than OEM. I know you won't need the stock cooler but you get a 3yr warranty instead of 1yr and Shogun 2 free as well.

thats looking great. seems you've picked up plenty from looking around the forums.

your power supply will be fine with that lot.

*edit*
didnt realise the retail version of the 2500k was on special offer. i would definitly grab that instead of the OEM one. also, if you keep the standard cooler tucked away somewhere, it might come in handy if the titan breaks a few years down the line

Ah thanks, I didn't notice the retail version was on offer, will go for that instead. The Corsairs are bit bit expensive really, that will take me well over my budget.

Also, I noticed the B3 Motherboard is still listed as Pre-Order, any ideas as to when it may come into stock? Or should I just go for the non-B3 version and replace it when they are available?

Personally, I'd replace the PSU. BeQuiet aren't as well-reputed as XFX or Corsair, and I'd say they justify the heavier pricetag. XFX and Corsair are effectively the same, by the way- they're both rebadged Seasonics, so just get the one you linked in the OP (or the TX650 for ~the same price, as the XFX appears to be out of stock).

The Titan Fenrir is very good, but I wouldn't be afraid to drop down to the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7, or my personal favourite, the Hyper 212+. They're a lot cheaper, and you should still be able to get the same results.
