Hello all, Im fairly new to PC gaming and im looking to build my first PC.

I have a budget of £800-1000 and do not require an OS.

I do require a monitor and I am willing to extend the budget slightly if it would make a large diffrence on the components I am able to have.

Thanks for the help

Jonny

.

Thanks for the quick reply and like i said if a little extra make a big diffrence I dont mind paying for it,

Would it be worth me spending slightly more to get a better dvd-ROM drive?

Cheers

No need for an i7 if its just a gaming rig. Won't give you much of a tangible advantage. Best to stick to your budget (things could go crazy otherwise)

This is what i'd do:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Zotac GeForce GTX 970 Gaming Edition 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (ZT-90101-10P) £259.99
1 x Intel Core i5-4690K 3.50GHz (Devil's Canyon) Socket LGA1150 Processor - Retail £185.99
1 x AOC G2460FQ 24" Widescreen 144Hz 1ms Gaming LED Monitor - Gunmetal £169.99
1 x Crucial MX100 256GB SATA 2.5” 7mm SSD + 9.5mm Adapter (CT256MX100SSD1) £79.99
1 x Gigabyte Z97P-D3 Intel Z97 (Socket 1150) DDR3 ATX Motherboard £61.99
1 x TeamGroup Xtreem LV "Frost Edition" 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-21300C11 2666MHz Dual Channel Kit £59.99
1 x SuperFlower Golden Green HX 550W "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £59.99
1 x Silverstone Tundra Series TD03 Liquid CPU Cooler £49.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD £41.99
1 x Raijintek Agos Midi Tower - Black £39.95
1 x LG GH24NSB0 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £13.99
Total : £1,045.27 (includes shipping : £17.85).

144hz monitor, as the 970 will go above 60FPS (ultra) on most titles, its worth reaping the extra rewards, right?

CLC for more OC headroom.

Doomspeed,

The spec you have sent would I require anything else to put it all together or is it just a case of order the parts and assemble it?

I guess the Watercooler would still work with this aswell?
1 x Gigabyte Z97X-SLI - Devils Canyon Core i5 4690K Bundle **£14 Saving** £264.58

Is a 550W PSU still enough for that build?

Also their is none of this in stock
1 x TeamGroup Xtreem LV "Frost Edition" 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-21300C11 2666MHz Dual Channel Kit £59.99
so could i use this or is their a better option?

Cheers guys

It will come with all you need, though I know some motherboards only come with 2 SATA cables, you'll need 3 (HDD, SSD and OD) so we should add one of them to the order too, just in case.

You can use that bundle, yes but its more expensive (that's the reason i didn't use it), not to mention you'd need a bigger PSU if you were to go SLI anyway (750w). Though if you want to go with that bundle ( its not preassembled) it will work with the 550w PSU.

The water cooler will work with either too..

The RAM is in stock, at least, it is from my end...
