Spent ages putting together my e2180, nforce ultra 650i, geil memory combo (plus all the other bits) and it worked first time.

Straight to BIOS.

I dont know how they do that down the local shop for £30 though. Must have taken me over 10 hours.

Anyway thanks to everybody for the advice and help along the way.

Yeah, you get quicker at it. I've got it down to one morning from scratch to fully updated sp2 with all the various bits of software needed for the office.

Theres a fair bit of hurry up and wait after the "putting bits in case" stage so doing it in bulk at a shop takes even less time overall as you can set one bit going and move to another.

Took me 3 hours to do a complete system build with custom water kit and install vista with updates.

As others have said you get quicker as time goes buy, been building pc's for over a decade myself so its practically 2nd nature now, could do it blind folded.

It also helps if you pre-create a fully updated/slipstreamed install CD for Windows to avoid time wasted installing updates online.
