Firstly, what i say next is not critising your choice just making a valid point.

This is a case of picking the most expensive parts as you think they'll be a lot better than cheaper items. I completely understand why.

On one hand these parts you've picked are better but for your uses, there are a lot better, cheaper options, that will give you the same end product.

Snips build above is pretty near spot on.

The only things i would change are the PSU (to a 750W, for Xfire and Overclocking headroom) and the Cooler to a K2, as they are suberb coolers and great value for money. :)
YOUR BASKET
1 x XFX Pro Series 750W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply £79.99
1 x Alpenföhn K2 Mount Doom CPU Cooler (Socket 775 / 1155 / 1156 / 1366 / 2011 / AM2 / AM2+ / AM3 / FM1 / FM2) £59.99
Total : £151.08 (includes shipping : £9.25).

Whats up
I have a question about the graphics card prices
7970 Matrix prices now is £539.99 model Asus HD 7970 Matrix Platinum 3072MB GDDR5

The question is how much it will cost later 7970
On the Asus, there are two models of 7970 matrix

MATRIX-HD7970-P-3GD5 *new model*price???and old model
MATRIX-HD7970-3GD5 old model price:£539.99 Are you are serious? Do not think so?

for me i'd wait for july and see what the newer socket and cpu's are like when they come out, and i still like the i7, as it's no slower for most stuff and quicker for some in games, it all depends on what you play if it's fully supported or not tbh

the i5 is a great cheap and on many benchmarks it can hold it head up very very well, with plenty of head room for OCing as well it's even better.

but if you don't need it now and can wait, i'd see what happens in a few months, best sometimes to just give a budget and let others pick it for you here, cases are like keyboard and mice, personnel, so unless you pick one that the parts you want don't fit, pick one yourself and ask for it not to be changed, most are only boxes either way as a certain price and add little apart from looks, most good ones have good cooling and plenty of space for parts etc, cable management is a matter of opinion in some cases, some say some are good when others say it's rubbish, so i guess it's how you do it yourself.

for me your spec was ok, but some parts like m/b and video card could be better, you have no memory listed or how much you want, most here would say stick with 8gb, for me i'd change above parts to cheaper ones and have more memory and a psu listed above by Doomedspeed and use either his choice of cooler or go liquid Corsair Hydro H100i High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler as long as your case supports it that is.

so for me, either wait, or give a budget and your fully needs, ie gaming but what type and name a few etc, then we can see if a i7 is even needed etc plus if more memory would help and what socket board to put you on, and give more reasons why you don't need top end parts like the m/b choice when cheap types can be as good or better if you dont need or use the extra bits and bobs of the first choice m/b you made.
