Hello guys,

I am building my first PC. It will be used for gaming. My budget is £2000. I don’t need any peripherals. I have an 4K monitor. Either AMD or Intel build. Can anyone spec me for this please?

Or for 4k perhaps go for a 7900XTX and to free up money get 32GB of 5600 MHz RAM instead.

Another alternative is to swap the CPU above for a Ryzen 7700 (non-X) and a B650 Gaming X AX with the less RAM and get the 7900XTX.

You need DDR5 memory with that motherboard you have DDR4 in your list and your psu is a little weak I would put a 1000w unit in there which you can get for £10 less but gold rated.

Help needed please, I’ve put together my pc but I can’t get it to power up. I have CORSAIR HXi Series HX1000i FM with a b650 aorus elite ax motherboard. The top left of the motherboard has a 4 pin plug and a 8 pin plug my power supply come with the 8pin but no 4 pin. Is the 4pin what I’m missing?

No fans are spinning but I’m getting lights on the case

Check for error codes, usually top right of your motherboard will show if the issue is RAM, CPU, etc. also worth trying to disconnect anything but the necessary.

Check all power cables are connected correctly both ends and are there any lights the motherboard?

What is the spec you went for?

You should have 2 x EPS cables, the motherboard end should split into 2 x 4 pin plugs. (you should be fine with only the 8 pin connected)

Sorry guys I’m new to the pc world it’s all a bit mad I’m used to turning on my console. I’ve handed the build over to a mate who knows a bit more about pc.

My motherboard wasn’t showing any errors codes I don’t believe it has an error code panel.

Page 18 shows you motherboard has status led lights by the 24 pin power connector.

If your psu is not atx 3.0 then the 3rd one is 3 x 8 pin?
