The above was done with stock cooler and stock volts

i wana hit 3.6Ghz to get a 1:1 ratio on my memory and don't know how much voltage i should be adding and what other settings are best to use?

...also, can someone suggest a program to test stability, i've heard orthos being mentioned a lot ?

the mobo i'm using is an Asus P5N-E, not the best but i think my e6600 is a good clocker as i got to the above overclock with no effort and it's stable enouph for 3d mark and games.

maybe prime95 as well but that is old, donno if its used so much now. seen a lot saying or using orthos.

nice chip u got there. having a look around its seems the week 27/28 chips are doing well.

thx, it was with stock volts (1.36 i think? heard suggestions of using 1.45v so i will give that a go) and stock cooler.

ok just downloaded orthos, will run a blend (cpu and mem) in a moment and take it from there. a lot has changed since last time i done overclocking (amd64 days lol)

on the stock cooler your CPU will cook at that voltage, im using 1.45 on mine and it strugles to stay below 70 load with my ACF7

for reference mine needs 1.525v to hit 3.4GHz and with a Noctua + Scythe "F" fan this hits 65° load...

then again i've got a rubbish C2D from what i've read, so you may do better, mine has L632F stepping FYI...

Si.
