First core 2 install - retail cooler

Im am just putting together my first core2 system, it is a retail CPU/cooler and i have never installed a cooler like this before.
I have out it on and pressed the 4 plugs in slightly and they click as the paper work says, but they will if i wanted to push them go further and pull it all down tighter,
Im not sure what i should do? the fan seems secure but the plugs seem to wobble around,
Should i be psuhing these things in as far as they go? i dont think so but would like another opinion please
 
The cooler seems to be held firm, but the clips are wobbling around, they look like they could be pushed further but it also looks like if i did push them further things may start to bend.
I think i might hook it all up to the power turn it on and sit in the bios, see what the temp does for a while, if it starts going up sharply it isnt fitted correctly.
