Hi guys and galls,
I recently decided to build myself a solid gaming rig but I am a little under-educated in terms of tech talk and the such. My buddy turned me onto this site quoting ''these guys really know their stuff''.

I have been using a Dell XPs 1530 laptop for the past few years and it finally died after countless hours of use. May it R.i.p.

Decided I would get serious about gaming and get a tower!
Since I have never built a P.C I reckon I will leave that to the professionals, but since I am spending so much money I do worry about getting value and performance for myself when picking components.

I have a £1000 budget (a little over is o.k~£100 or so) for the computer alone with an O.s!(I have a 28" 1080p Panasonic T.v so I think i will just HDMI up to that for a picture&sound)

I want to be able to play high end games well, and continue to do so into the future as best as can be done with my budget.

Did a good bit of research but in all reality, with my limited knowledge I am grasping at straws.

This is what I'm thinking so far,

YOUR BASKET
1 x ASUS GeForce GTX 660TI Direct CU II TOP 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £251.99
1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - Retail £179.99
1 x Gigabyte Z77X-D3H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £112.99
1 x Samsung 120GB SSD 840 SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TD120BW) £83.99
1 x Corsair Builder Series CX 750w Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply (CP-9020061-UK) £74.99
1 x Corsair Carbide 300R Mid Tower Case - Black £64.99
1 x Seagate Momentus 5400.4 500GB 7200RPM SATA-II 8MB Cache - OEM (ST9500423AS) HDD £52.99
1 x Corsair Vengeance Blue 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9B) £44.99
1 x Thermalright HR-02 Macho CPU Cooler (Socket 775 / 1155 / 1156 / 1366) £39.98
2 x Aerocool Shark Black Edition Fan - 140mm £7.99 (£15.98)
Total : £937.88 (includes shipping : £12.50).

How is this looking??
Any way to improve it in your wise opinions??
Do I need the cooling system if I am going to be O.C'ing my CPU?
I need a disk drive too.

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO RIP THIS APART OR DESIGN YOUR OWN FOR MY £1100 BUDGET
Thank you very much for any interest guys! I am a good guy, so please help me out!

Thanks for the advice guys! Is crossfire hooking up two CPU's to improve performance? I went for a higher wattage PSU because in the future I may want to connect two graphics cards to keep up with the newest games. I also saw somewhere that the higher ones are just safer for your computer, as I will be playing it a lot and I want to take every precaution in extending the life of my new beauty!

If I wanted to use a 5.1 surround sound system eventually, would I have to get a better sound card than the stock basic?

Also, for £30 extra I could get 16 Gb RAM instead of 8gb, I have heard a lot of people say I won't need it, but for 30 quid extra I reckon it may be worth it.

My biggest problem is deciding on a graphics card really! Pretty set on the i5-3570k, I have always been a NVIDIA fan, and I heard they are more compatable for drivers on intel, but AMD seems to be the solid choice for a a lot of builds you guys do. SO i may just take good advice when given it!
