Atarting to get DDR5 benchmarks from China, this set was tested on Intel's upcoming Alder Lake 10nm desktop platform.

There measurable improvements in read, write and copy bandwidth compared to DDR4 however there was one big downside in this testing. DDR5 has massive memory latency, in this benchmark they recorded Aida64 memory latency of 100ns... sure that will be great for games

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that the first DDR5 desktop memory kits are going to have worse gaming performance than current DDR4 kits, but they will have large improvements for non latency sensitive applications

Looking at the rest of those AIDA64 latencies I'm pretty sure Alder Lake, and probably more the ES nature of it, is a good part of the latency...

4ns for L1 vs 0.8-1ns on Zen3/RKL... L3 on that Alder Lake result is worse latency than the DDR4 on either Zen3 or RKL platforms...

Pretty sure that's not a good indication of what performance will be like on release. Or if it is Alder Lake is DOA. Not saying you're wrong and initial DDR5 will be perfect, but worth taking those results for what they are...

Yeah the CPU is only running at 800mhz which will skew the memory results.
