Does anyone bank with first direct, can you confirm if they do OFX downloads for statement data ?

Unfortunately not - PDF only. You used to be able to export in a few file formats, however that functionality appears to have been removed.

They do support open banking though, don't know if that helps?

Not really, i use a old version of YNAB (desktop) and have 10 years more of account data and wish to keep it. I know the new YNAB does open banking but it also a subscription model and is utterly pointless when you have the desktop version.

Apologies, I just checked again this afternoon. You can only export statements in PDF, but you can download last 90 days of transactions in .csv, quicken and msmoney .qif variants, and .json. Not sure if this helps you but a quick Google suggests there are .ofx converters from some/all of these formats.
