First Ever Build, i5 2500k Temperatures

Hi, I've just recently built my first ever PC, and I was surprised everything went as smoothly as it did. I am however worried about the CPU temps. At idle, it bobs between 33-37 degrees. I am using the stock cooler, and also, the exhaust fan at back of my case is faulty (not spinning). I did have the side window off when I recorded the temperatures though. Are these temps normal/OK for now, as I do intend to upgrade the heatsink and replace the case fan pretty soon? The CPU is an Intel Core i5 2500k, running @ 3.3GHz (Stock) Thanks for any help, Matt.

Idle temps are fine with a stock cooler and relatively unimportant as long as they're not pushing 40+ (were the temp readings in the BIOS or Windows?)

It's the load temps that are important - what temps are you getting under full load?

The temp in the BIOS was 62 degrees, but I've been told that BIOS temps are almost always high. I'm not sure what temps I'm getting under full load, but I tried Call of Duty 4 for a bit, and I was getting into the high 50's, to low 60's. This was with the side of the case off because I was trying to fix the faulty fan (I know having the side off is a bad idea).

Anyway, I tried CoD 4 again with the fan fixed, and the side of the case on and I was getting high 30's, to low 40's so I think its fixed now :D

Your temps sound fine to me mate, I have a 2500k at stock and bad/lazy cable management in my pc and I'm sitting at 34-38 at idle. It reaches 55-60 in most game and on a warm day will hit 65-67, but thats with crossfired graphics cards.
Am using an artic freezer cpu cooler which is only a little bit better than the stock cooler imo.

The temperatures look good enough for stock cooling to me.

I have not long got a 2500k myself and with it clocked to 4ghz it will idle at 25-28c.

This is with an Akasa Venom cooler.

Your temps are absolutely fine.. although making me think I need to reseat my cooler as I'm getting roughly the same temps at idle! xD

(although I'm in quite a high room temp)
