Motherboard would be better off with an x38 or x38 to futureproof for crossfire later on.

You have chosen DDR3 ram on a DDR2 motherboard, would avoid DDR3 for now as performance doesnt warrant the massive price get yourself some decent DDR2 memory instead will still overclock CPU nicely.

Maybe consider using the money you save on the above to get a Samsung F1 Harddrive for storage, maybe a 1Tb drive.

Tuniq Towers are excellent coolers and can get you a good overclock. You also need to add dvd drive to that setup and monitor/mouse/keyboard/speakers possibly as i dont know what you already have, also soundcard if you dont want to use onboard. Make sure you think of everything you need and include in your budget or you could end up way over.

1k is plenty for a high end pc though so am sure some guys here will spec you up some great setups, would help out more but break at work about to finish, enjoy the build :)

go for an Asus P45 mobo, P5QE would be my personal choice, crossfire seems an unlikely choice as you've already chosen an X2 GFX card, unless you want a lot of GPU power!

very good choice of kit otherwise, hope you have a big PSU to power that lot as well!

/ram obviously as was said!

Generally agree with points above, don't go for a 780 board without using nvidia cards. If you insist then i'd go for EVGA above Asus for improved stability however my personal recommendation would be the X48 or P45 chipset. The Rampage Formula board by asus (X48 chipset) is an incredible piece of kit but costs a fair chunk so considering your budget go for a P5Q board which are great overclockers for a good price.

Also definitely go for a modular PSU as they make all the difference with cable management. My last build (in my sig) I was going to go for the Corsair 650W but then was recommended last minute the 620W modular psu and the ability to remove non needed cables is so useful.

Also I'd advise getting a second HDD. The velociraptor will be great for games etc but 150GB won't last you long, so buy a Samsung F1 drive (atleast the 640GB version for higher density platters) for general storage etc.

Good luck with your build :)

well once again i have too say thxs for the tips and advice - just ordered and like see if i break anything :)
