Hi guys! This is pretty much my first ever build where I will be building it from scratch instead of ordering the machine complete from ocuk!

My budget is around £1300 and trying to keep it around that mark!

Bellow is what I have so far come up with. I will appreciate any help or changing a few things around. Only things i'm a bit unsure about is the memory and psu I added. Just to add im thinking of taking out the 780 and wait for the new gpus in a few weeks and order the build without the gpu for now.

The screen I will be getting the benq xl2411t from another website.

Thanks and will appreciate any advice!

Looks good!

However a few things I would suggest:

Drop the sound card, wont be hardly any difference than the Onboard.

I would personally take a 290 over a 780 but that a choice down to the individual I guess!

Change the ram to

YOUR BASKET
1 x Kingston HyperX 8GB (2x4GB) PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black/Red (HX21C11BRK2/8-OC) £67.99
Total : £76.69 (includes shipping : £7.25).

As for the PSU I really do not like Corsair PSUs as of late, look to spend a little more on something like this:

YOUR BASKET
1 x SuperFlower Leadex GOLD 650W Fully Modular "80 Plus Gold" Power Supply - Black £79.99
Total : £89.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

Some flaws
mATX case, ATX board - won't fit
As Qitarah said, no need for the sound card
There is faster RAM available for a similar price (Kingston, Teamgroup etc) and without the ridiculous heatsink

Ok thanks for all the feedback I will go through it all now :)

First being the case, didnt relise the corsair 350D will be too small for the motherboard :D So I chose this case:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Corsair Obsidian 750D Full Tower Case - Black (CC-9011035-WW) £124.99
Total : £134.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

The question I have is will I actually not notice any difference at all in sound with a sound card with that mobo?

Secondly, dont quite understand memory frequency's I will chose one of the ones you guys have suggested but will it be better if i chose the higher frequency such as the 2400 mhz?

When comparing these two all I see is the higher frequency being higher so its better? Sorry a bit confused

1 x Kingston HyperX 8GB (2x4GB) PC3-17100C11 2133MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black/Red (HX21C11BRK2/8-OC) £67.99
1 x TeamGroup Xtreem LV "Frost Edition" 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-21300C11 2666MHz Dual Channel Kit £59.99

Lastly, in terms of psu will 650w be enough or will you recommend a 750w and above?

Thanks :D

For a very basic and brief explanation:

Ram performance is a balance between the timings and MHz. in general look for as high MHz as possible while keeping the CL9, CL10 and upwards, the lower the CL number and higher the MHz the better that being said, don't go above 2400mhz ram, you won't see many gains past 2400 and for example the 2600 ones you listed aren't likely to run on xmp without fiddling with volts settings. Look for a good cl9 2133 MHz or c10-13 2400 MHz. Although don't worry too much, you won't notice any difference except in benchmarks.

A good 650w PSU (like the one I listed) is more than enough for any single gpu setup (bar the duel gpus on one pcb like the AMD 295x).

As for the sound card, well honestly you won't notice much with a cheap unit. It's basically the same stuff as onboard motherboards have nowerdays. Unless you're looking for a proper audio experience with proper headphones and A Amp/DAC just stick with an onboard in my opinion. Then again other may disagree and advise a sound card. I just see very little point spending £30 on a cheap unit that is + some areas and - in others when compared to the onboard.

As for the 750D is apparently a great case. I have a NZXT H440, if ascetics are your thing then check it out. It's a great looking case!

Thanks for all the feedback guys. Went away with the advice and came up with the following.

I changed the case to a bigger size [only one I liked in terms of looks xD]

To the best of my ability I changed the memory and PSU to what you guys have suggested. Hopefully that is good to go.

I will be ordering this within the next week or so but without the GPU and I will wait for the new cards to come out. In the mean time I will build the system without the card and pop the new card in when they are released.
