I am new to this whole gaming PC build thing & I have absolutely no clue where to start with anything, the only thing I know is the budget I have to play with between £500-£700 (hopefully more towards the higher end)

I have asked for help on other forums for advice on building my first gaming pc & explained my budget but instead all I've got in reply is here's a rig you can build for £1K.

I've searched YouTube for hours & every video seems to always have completely different components but for the same price. (My head feels like it might explode)

So can anyone help me out with advice because I would like to get my first (hopefully only build) right first time only having to upgrade when necessary.

Thanks guys, sorry for the long post & can't wait to build my first gaming pc.

You're better off using the HDMI in on your HDTV vs the VGA in. I don't know why they even include that feature. It's so so obsolete. Just get a computer that has HDMI out.

I would suggest you start by looking at the main OCUK page and check out some of the system bundles in your price range. OCUK has some decent bundles. They have some machines now that are designed for specific games too if that's what you're into.

Before we can suggest components, which sounds like what you're looking for, we need you to answer these questions:

Does the computer need to be small?
Does it need to be quiet?
What are you doing with it (be specific)
Are you playing games? (which games?)
What resolution is your monitor (important for above question)
Have you ever built a PC before?
Are you ok with a pre-built machine if an appropriate one can be found?

Thanks.

Definitely buy the bits and build it yourself. Sounds daunting I know but honestly it's easier than Lego. Now with plenty of build videos on YouTube it be easier and you'll have about 10% more to spend.

Why 3 SSD's? You really dont want that graphics card and the case is pretty expensive for a beginner build

I would go with 1 SSD and spend the money saved on an RX 480 4gb card for around £200.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £725.91
(includes shipping: £0.00)

Still a little over budget but cheaper than your list in PCPP. Need to get a different heat sink though as that one will be too big for the case. Left in in to remind me to check the dimensions :P
