Hi guys,

I've finally plucked up the courage to upgrade my computer, how hard can it be, right?anyway, my current spec is.

AMD athlon X2 +4200
550v psu
windows xp mce
geforce 8800gt
1gig 400mhz ram.

So, after quite a bit of research and looking around, i have ordered.

E8400
Abit IP35 pro motherboard
and Corsair 4gb 8500 memory.

is there anything else that you guys feel i'm missing which i really need to complete my upgrade, or something i've overlooked the could give me better performance, thanks in advance for your (hopefully) kind replies

Jesus!, you guys are so technical!, my rig is mainly used for gaming, a litlle internet browsing, but it's primary function is online gaming, and any other games i fancy trying, resolutions, i don't have a clue to be honest, i've already bought the stuff i've listed so p45 mobo is not an option to be honest

.I would love to try overclocking, but when i first had pc's, overclocking was a dirty word, but i have a friend who can help me with that, so that's one of the reasons i chose the motherboard i have, because it had good reviews for overclocking. Since my first post, i have actually found out what my case is. It's a coolermaster praetorian 730, one thing i was a little concerned about is that i have two small fans at the back of the case, and a large one at the front, would it be beneficial to add some more fans for better cooling?.

also, i was getting swept up in the upgrading excitement that is currently upon me, and was going to shell out for a new graphics card, HD4870, but what's the difference between 1gig and the 512, apart from the extra 512mb
