Got my first exam tomorrow, its a final year exam too

Been trying to revise for it, and can't get anywhere with it. I know a fair bit about some of it because of my dissertation, but I have been trying to learn some more stuff and its like banging my head against a wall.

Theres lots of terms being used that have no definition, just 5 or 6 authors saying they mean something completely different. Papers that are 30 pages long that don't have anything to say about the subject, but agree with someone else (you then read that persons paper and they are agreeing with someone else - I imagine with 10 years you could find out who proposed the idea but I don't hold much hope).

I am completely over my head on this subject despite doing loads of reading and attending all of the lectures. Added to that I can't remember any of my references and this guy is a stickler for referencing in exams (which personally I think is a stupid idea).

Anyone else feeling the heat?

Exam tomorrow as well, lots of stuff to learn but I'm just going to do my usual read through and rely on the old short term memory to pull me through. I have a good idea about all the general topics anyway.

Going to bed earlier anyway, rather be fresh with a little less knowledge than tired with poorly retained facts.

Its just so annoying that I have 3 exams this week and 3 next week, but I have so much other stuff to do as well :(

Wouldn't be so bad if it was raining, but I bet this is the only 'summer' we get.

my first final year exam is on thurs...i know about 50% of the stuff...so im hoping thats the stuff that comes up...then got a 2 week break till next exam :D then 4 days till the last exam which should be easy as its a 1st year module...then im done wooo....

Good luck matey. Not long till it's all over and you have the summer to enjoy so make a good go of it :) And don't worry, everything is all in your head and you won't even realise it until you sit down with the paper in front of you.

Good luck again :) (and everyone else)

Short term memory for the ultimate win :o:D

Anyone who likes/needs to last-minute cram, like me, make sure you at least get a bit of sleep, however little it is, before the exam to consolidate your memory, even if you think you can't afford to sleep. Trust me.

Good Luck .... I remember how bad exams can be, (I have odd memory so have gone into exams thinking I know nothing for this but once I look at the paper a few things surface). It's usually not as bad as you expect once you get there ... :)

Good luck today mate.

Got a Security and Cryptography exam today, great fun, especially when they can ask, find the keys for the RSA algorithm using to prime numbers of their specification, god I hope they aren't going for the jugular with a number bigger than 20 for that. Though I am actually pretty prepared for my exams now, been doing group sessions for the last two weeks and revising for a month before that. Never going to rely on cramming again.

exam for me today too. not feeling nervous! which worries me lol. just re-reading my notes to see if it sticks
