Hey guys,

Figured this was best in it's own thread. Was looking at the Galaxy SIII contracts (it's been years since I had a proper mobile phone) and this is all kinda new to me I guess? (yes laugh it up :p)

Seen a T-Mobile contract for £33 for 2k minutes, unlimited texts and internet. So far looks the best value that I've seen. Was just wondering if T-Mobile do discounts, like student ones? Or does anyone know any better value for money contracts? (although this does seem like the best). It is a 24 months contract.

Halps would be appreciated. :o

Yeah, minutes are the least important to me. Internet usage is probably the most important thing to me, next to texts. But, I'm not too sure about having to go on 3. Really don't like them.

Hmm, I figured getting the phone with a contract was a much better option, shows what I know. I quite liked the idea of being able to swap the phone out when there's a better one. :p

Giffgaff sounds tempting, but I heard they're getting too big for their own good and have been having problems?

Too many options. :p

How much do you end up saving going SIM only, really? The phone itself is still pretty expensive, and as far as I'm aware, with contracts where you get the phone for really cheap or free, you're getting quite a good deal, with the option to switch the phone for a better model in a year or so's time?

Since giffgaff is based on O2, does anyone know how good the coverage in the North-East is? Orange/T-Mobile is pretty decent up here, but not sure about O2.

Hmm... it seems being tied in is pretty negatively seen around here. Like I said, I know nothing when it comes to mobile networks (:p) so I guess I'll have to do some more digging, although finding out what to actually search for ends up being a bit daunting.

So you can only switch at the end? Huh, my brother told me you can switch after like 18 months of a 24 month contract or something like that.

For me on 3, I could upgrade after 21months but the new contract would be 24 months from the original contract end date. So 27 months in effect.

If you can afford to buy the handset outright it makes sense to do so for the flexibility. You can also ride the sell and upgrade wave if that's what you like.

But if £400 is a bit much to shell out in one go then there's nothing at all wrong with going the contract route

Ah, that makes sense. I can afford the handset right now, but plonking down that much on my first phone in forever would be bonkers... It makes more sense in my mind to go for the instalments with contracts. :p

As far as I can tell the best deal atm one of the top 3 T-Mobile contracts here . Pick the one which suits your usage.

Upfront cost £0
Cost per month (after cashback) £22.75
No of months 24
Additional Quidco cashback £27

Total cost £519.00

That's even better than buying the phone up front and using the cheapest sim only for 2 years.

Now that sounds pretty temping. Now to decide if I want 100 or 300 minutes.
