Hi all im wanting to build a gaming pc i dont play games much on the pc anymore and i have been using the ps4 lately its been a few years since i played any game on the pc so im here to see if this build spec would run the likes of h1z1,dayZ and a few other games

I5 4690k
Msi Z97 gaming 5 motherboard
R9 290X Msi/Saphire 4Gb or MSI GTX 970 4Gb ?
WD 1Tb HDD
256Gb Samsung 850 Evo SSD
Not sure on power supply will i need more than 650w?
Nzxt h440 Red or Nzxt Noctis 450 .what would you pick?
Hyper 212 cooler

I dont plan on overclocking it straight away but when i do i was thinking Corsair H110 liquid cooler

I have the chance to buy a MSI Z97A Gaming 7 for around £75 would this be a better choice than the MSI Z97 Gaming 5?

Any help will be apreciated thanks.. ash

You won't need 650w PSU - any good quality 400w will be sufficient for this, I'd go for a good quality 500-600w (decent 550-650 will let you run dual GPUs if you ever fancied that in the future and give you good OC headroom). Modular PSU is a good choice if you don't like clutter in your case and have extra £15-20 to spare.
This for example is a good pick (non modular version can be had for £10-15 less):

Both GPUs are very good and will do what you need them to, when buying have a look at what deals are available (might save you up to £30 if you're lucky).

What monitor do you have?
Would you need windows license?
You could go for newer skylake setup at this price (i5 6600k)
Do you store a lot of things on your HDD or will it be just games mainly? Consider ditching mechanical drive and just get 500GB SSD if you don't need a ton of storage.
The cooler you picked will be enough for a mild OC or you could get high end air cooler for around £35-40. The corsair option is there if you want to push it to the limits and keep the noise low (you can change fans for something low rpm/whisper quiet) while still having high performance.

Both cases are good with good features and are a good choice - you could possibly go for something cheaper if you wanted to as well but I always believe in investing in a good case that will last.

Im going to buy a new monitor only got my old hp 19" lcd im going to go for a dual monitor setup 24" led or 27" not decided yet any recomended monitors what is the 1ms/3ms/5ms is 5ms better than 3ms not sure if it would make a difference..

I wont need 1tb as all my films and stuff are on my external hd i will look into a 500gb ssd.

I was going to buy a cheap case to get it all running and then buy a noctis 450 at a later date but i think i will just buy the noctis to save messing around switching cases

which is better msi z97 gaming 5 or msi z97a gaming 7
