hey guys! got sick and tired of consol gaming so thought it was about time to put my toe in the water for the glorious pc master race. ! I don't know that much about components so hopefully they all work together

Gigabyte GA-Z68A-D3-B3, Intel Z68, S 1155, DDR3, SATA III - 6Gb/s, RAID SATA, PCIe 2.0 (x16), ATX

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor

Corsair Cooling Air Series A50 Performance CPU Cooler

Coolermaster HAF 912 Plus, Black Chassis £62.38 Inc VAT

G Skill 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1333mhz Ripjaws Memory Kit CL9 (9-9-9-24) 1.5V

Sapphire HD 6950 2GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDMI DisplayPort PCI-E Graphics Card

Coolermaster RS600-AMBAD3 Silent Pro M 600W Modular Power Supply (PSU)

AD-7260S DVD-RW 24x S-ATA 150 MByte/s 2 MB Black (AD-7260S-0B)

I plan to add another card in crossfire down the line and maybe have a go at over-clocking the CPU

Does this look good ? or should i change some things around, the main game I will be playing in BF3 with a 1920X1080 monitor

MSI Z68A-G43-G3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard would this one be better. ?

I don't use CAD/WORKS type programs so I thought the ram would suffice unless 1600 mhz would give me at least 5% more frame rates

I was worried about the power supply however will a 650 defiantly not have the juice?

Thats no good, it does Crossfire at 16X/4X, can you find the GD55?

1600Mhz with modest 9-9-9-27 timings is all you need.

I forgot to add im buying a screen and mouse and keyboard , the GD55 looks sweet but this will bite into my screen budget

would the Asus P8Z68-V LX Intel Z68 be more appropriate as I could still afford it?

Think I will take your advice with the 1600mhz ram however!

That again is a 16X/4X board, how about a MSI - Z68A-G45-G3 or Gigabyte- GA-Z68XP-UD3

They are both SLI/Crossfire 8X/8X

What is your budget? or is it £700 for everything or just the tower?

Have you considered speccing something up here instead?

Need a hdd?

I apologise for being stupid, motherboards defiantly confused me the most out of all the parts !

Think I will go for the gigabyte ! now just to wait till pay day if it looks prim now?

Sweet ive come in my budget that board looks excellent, thanks for the swift replies

Will hard drive prices come down relativelysoon as they are disgusting atm due to thailand, or am I just having to take it?

Assuming you have the screen?

And you need an OS?

What your best to do is get a good quality case, psu, memory (1600), keyboard and mouse. These are the items keep long term when you revamp your PC.

Then your budget decides the spec of the motherboard, cpu and gfx card and so on.

You could choose a SSD 64gb for now and when the prices return to normal for HDD populate your case with some of those.

I have a 40" LCD TV that im going to sell to get a 24" monitor but I do have a windows 7 key knocking around.

It does seem like a 64gb ssd is the best bet for now unfortunately until prices become sain.

would a Gigabyte HD 6950 OC AMD Radeon Graphics Card - 1GB give me greater performance as I will not have a 2560 monitor and will not use multiple monitors?
