First Go At An OC - Thoughts?

Ok guys,

My first go, don't really know what im doing but i done a little reading on these forums and have given it a go. I dont want to go massive and I am happy with the results I have so far, I just wanna check if I have done anything wrong, or need to do anything else.

I have left Vcore on Auto and CPU-Z tells be its giving 1.312V

BLCK 185

multiplyer 20

Gives me 3690

I have not changed any RAm setting (dont know what I am doing there) the Gskill i have is 1033. CPU-Z tells me (and this makes no sense to me what so ever)

NB Freq 2960

DRAM 555Mhz

Cas 8.0 Clocks
Ras 8 Clocks
Ras Precharge 8 Clocks
Cycle Time 20 Clocks


Room Temp 23c

3 Front fans on Low, 2 rear fans on Medium, Top Fan on low. Noctua Blow and Suck.

Idle 38 - 42c

Load 72 - 78c

Any advice and tips would be greatly recieved.
 
Anyone else like to comment on the temps pls. Thanks guys. Appreciated. Just done a retest with a cooler room. Its gets very hot in here. i.e. opened the window.

Load is 61 - 69

I don't own one but I was under the impression that i7 were a lot hotter than core2 under load. We'll have to wait for someone with some hands on experience to stubble into this thread to make sure though.
 
Its actually has idle Temp of 30 - 33 with the window open.

Problem I have is that i got 3 PC's in this room making it very warm. But your right. lets wait until an i7 expert comes along :)
 
i7's do run hotter than the 775 socket chips i would say that is pretty reasonable temps on air. Try set the vcore manually as you may be able to get away with lower and get your temps down a lil bit too.
 
Ok thanks for that , once I get it to a point where I am happy I will then ask about the memory side of things.

Really unsure of what ibam doingbon that score!!!!
