I know nothing of photography I'm afraid, so please take my comments with a pinch of salt :)

However from a fan of viewing people's photo's I think they look nice. The second one however in my eyes would look great with a closer shot of the building, leaving out the traffic cone and street lamps.

I like the first one, I think it's the light and the colour that do it for me, but it's ruined by the horrible JPEG compression, any chance of a better quality version?

The second one looks odd because of the slope on the right, at first I thought it needed straightening but looking at it I think the slope just makes it look dodgy.

TO be honest the first doesnt do anything for me, its a bit busy, tree distracting, I don't know where I'm supposed to be looking really.

The second looks nicer but the main building you are drawn to seems at an angle?

For first time night shots I think they are excellent!

Good choice of subject - I would just work on the framing slightly - Maybe try and loose the black blur at the bottom of the first one and maybe move slightly closer in on the second one.

They don't look too grainy so I would suggest maybe upping the ISO slightly (if possible) just so you can have a slightly shorter shutter to cut down on some of the burn out from the lights etc.

Also, give you lens a bit of a wipe (this is just me being picky) but there is just a bit of a general dusty look to the second one - especially around the light sources - some lens flair which is nice, but some of the rest looks like dust (I could be wrong)

But overall, great work and keep going at it. Maybe try and find a location with some traffic in the foreground so you can get some light trails going past (or around etc) to add interest to the shot.
