what do you think?

I don't think it's a subject that lends itself particularly to HDR, if you post the original for comparison then people might be able to offer more advice.

To me making a HDR image should be done to try and make an image look natural where the highlights would be over exposed or shadows under exposed in a normal image, and it looks to me like it may not have been necessary here.

looks good to me :) I was messing around the house earlier but couldn't find anything good enough to bother with and the sky was gray so the HDRs I tried didn't look to spectacular

lol SilverPenguin - I'll give you one of those tomorrow. I'm going to the beach at sunset and around town for a while. See what I can find... Going to try and take my first HDR shots.

Then you don't know your A from your E quite simply ;)

Hehe sorry, in a bit of mean mood today. The above still aplies though

How small minded of you. All art is just a matter of opinion.

Please post a photo of a shoe that you feel looks better.

Wow... it does look pretty good... I need to get into HDR :D

How much will a HDR camera and whatever else I need cost me?

I'll create my own thread in a second :p

Ok some real constructive crit.

1. You're taking a photo of a shoe :p
2. Even if this were supposed to be a stock photo, the background is way too distracting to make the picture useable
3. HDR is a useful tool when used in the right circumstances, taking a HDR photo of a shoe in the middle of a table doesn't qualify.
4. I think xoloti worded this best: "It's a rubbish photo to start off with and HDR hasn't changed that."
5. As for applying the HDR technique it's been done quite nicely, there're no horrible halos or anything like that, it's brought out the creases quite nicely. But the original picture is not good, and as such just applying a technique to it is not going to change that fact.

And as for the andy worhole thing, it's not to my tastes. But it is perfect for a stock picture
