...I made the switch to Intel finally and swapped out my x2 system for a core 2 duo platform.

So I got my e6300, p5b deluxe and crucial ballistix 5300 today and after just about 2 hours I got a decent overclock. For some reason anything over 450fsb is unstable even if I bump the voltage to 1.5v+.

This is my first time overclocking an intel and am just getting used to this weird bios...I've only worked with DFI boards before.

I'll orthos it tonight but so far it's stable...and this ram is incredible...rated at 667mhz yet it's doing 1125mhz right now on 5,5,5,15 timings.

Anyway I'm fairly pleased with the results so far, I just wanted to share my new build.

You could try bumping your NB voltage up a notch or two to try and get stable at higher speeds.

That's nice looking RAM. Half regretting my Geil now ;)

If you're taking the CPU higher I'd put the RAM on 1:1 before trying that.

ok I'll try bumping the NB voltage...and yeah I only bumped up the ram to 5:4 because I knew it could do more than the 900mhz at 1:1 :)

I like to see overclocks with their own threads...

Nice overclock :D Is this with your 7900GT? What do you get in 3DMark06?

Yeah I still have my 7900GT...going to get a 8800GTX or R600 during the summer.

I'm downloading 3dmark06 right now.....til then here's a superpi score....pretty good considering my AMD x2 @ 3.03ghz only got just shy of 29 seconds.

Just ran 3dmark06 with the standard settings on.

Clocked the GPU a bit more for the run to 674/882

not too bad of a score for a 7900GT 256mb ram
