First look at the transparent Slate Grey DualShock 3 controller

Sony Computer Entertainment Hong Kong has provided a first look at the upcoming Slate Grey DualShock 3 controller. The Playstation 3 accessory features a bit of transparency, showing some of its insides. You can check out the controller, as well as some images of the new Playstation 3 model (which as also announced today), in the slideshow at the top of this article.

The controller, which has a product code of CECHZC2H BJ, has a weight of 193 grams. The transparent Slate Grey DualShock 3 has a manufacturer’s suggested retail price tag of HK$349, which is approximately $45.01 in U.S. dollars. It is slated to come out in Hong Kong on October 1st.

The transparent Slate Grey DualShock 3 controller has not yet been officially announced for the Playstation 3 in North America. However, the Playstation.Blog recently announced that they were letting fans come up with the new DualShock 3 design. So it appears that the Slate Grey DualShock 3 was the winning choice.

Looks cool, I had a transparent blue Dual Shock for my original Playstation, I'll get this when it's release as I was looking to buy a new pad anyway.

Yeah I remember seeing official transparent controllers back during the PS1 days. Did they ever do the same for the PS2? I just don't seem to remember that at all. Feels like it has been ages.

Yeah, they done them for ps2 as well. I have a lemon yellow (clear yellow), Emerald (clear green) and crystal one (clear).

I had one like this for PS2 as well (dark greyish). I would buy one of these if I wanted a new controller and it was priced the same as normal ones.
