Hello, I had a trip into the apple store in glasgow the other day, been looking on apples site for quite some time and am really set on getting one now.

I, initially planned to get a MBP 13'' however, am not so sure it has enough power, so was looking at the 15s, yet, doing that, av came across a lot of friction over its supposed poor rez, atleast when you compare it to its big brother. And before you know it, we are approaching £2k for a laptop and havent even glanced at the software.

I really want to get into editing, am looking around at some nice HD cameras, its a hobby I have always had but never really had the cash to back up. From what I understand, macs, are just so much better for that sort of thing. Yet the more people I talk to, am told a mbp wont be enough, I would need to look into an actual mac pro. Which, again, once you add on the screen and software is getting pretty damn pricey aswell.

Am not exactly looking to pull of speilberg rivaling movies here, just some sleek looking productions for my own amusement (and the girlfriends, wink wink), what do you guys think I should be looking at?

I would prefer, a mac book pro, as I was after a windows laptop before hand.

Thanks

Martyn

hmmm, would the 9400 suffice for that sort of work? Am fairly clued up when it comes to my hardware on the gaming front but this is an all together different kettle of fish. I can upgrade the HD and RAM later anyways (right?).

thanks gents
