I am debating whether to go ready built or self build with budget of 1200 quid. Got my fingers burned with a Dell that I had to return and luckily got a full refund. As a result I am inclined towards a self build. What do you think of this setup?

Asustek S775 INTEL P45 ATX DDR2 AUDIO LAN P5Q-E
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 2.83GHz 12M Cache S775 1333MHZ
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (Socket LGA775)
Samsung SM226BW 22" W TFT 2ms Swiv/Tlt
Pioneer 20X DVD+/-RW 12xRAM BLACK SATA
Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 64-bit OEM
Microsoft Digital Media Keyboard 3000
Antec Black Twelve Hundred Tower Case ATX no PSU
Samsung 1TB 7200RPM 32MB S300 3.5"
Sapphire Technology Radeon HD 4870 512MB PCIE DUAL DVI DDR5
Corsair Memory 4GB (2X2GB KIT) DDR2 1066MHZ 240PIN IMM UNBUFFER
Would this be adequate for this system? http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-021-BQ&tool=3 Just really like the idea of modular if I am building for first time in many years.

Comes in around 1150 quid

Couple of questions -
Should I go for Q9450 to Q9550?
OCZ reaper memory compared to Corsair?
Tuniq tower compared to Arctic cooler?
P182 compared to Antec 1200?

Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks

One question I can answer for you with absolute certainty is the Q9550 vs. Q9450 debate. You'd be a fool not to go for the Q9550 ATM seeing as the two are the exact same price.

Any reason for going quad apart from epeen ?
Forget about future-proofing, by the time it will get supported in gaming it will be too slow and u will have to change it anyways.

I would grab 24" monitor instead of 22 as well.

I can definitely recommend geil black dragon memory.

Grab some cheaper PSU, corsair or thermaltake will do.

Get Tuniq Tower if u're spending that much already.

And you can drop the motherboard for cheaper version.
