What a nice feeling cranking up the HTT/FSB and getting all this extra speed for free :)

I wrote down my cpu stuff and lost it, but pretty sure it was CABNE 0545, so not the best.

The last time I overclocked was with the Celeron 300A! Things have become a little more complicated since then. I must have guessed right about some of the bios settings, because things move on so fast, a lot of these overclocking guides get out of date very quickly. I was unsure about CPU multipler, but then discovered that this can only go lower and it doesn't normally get changed.

I'm using:
Freezer 64 Pro
Epox 9NPA+ Ultra with Zalman passive NB cooler, latest bios
Seasonic 500W PSU
1GB GeIL Value RAM
Leadtek 7800 GT @ 'detect optimal' 486/1170 + Zalman VGA cooler

My CPU is 290 x9 = 2610, vcore+ 0.1, which I'm pretty happy with. Temps are fine: 42c under load. I'm getting just over 8k in 3dmark05 (woohoo!) :)

At 295 superpi fails, even with vcore +0.125 (which is how many volts exactly? I thought 1.525, but readings are at 1.6v ish)

I upped chipset volts from 1.5 to 1.6. How safe would more volts be on a passive zalman cooler?

Since I'm using HT mutli of x3 and 133 divider, my ram is at 193Mhz, I enabled CAS 2.5 and T1 and ran 2 passes on memtest. I take it there shouldn't be any problem here as my mem is running slightly slower than 200Mhz anyway.

I just ran 'detect optimal' clock for my gfx card again, but it recommended much lower speeds. Is this due to the CPU oc?

Any suggestions for getting some more out of it would be appreciated.

Edit: just wondering, how does 2610Mhz compare to 3200, 3700 etc speed AMDs?

Forgot to mention that each 5Mhz notch I ran superpi 1M. Prime95 failed so I upped vcore to +0.125, been running for 1hr 10mins so far, will run over night and maybe do some F.E.A.R. testing in a while :)
