First Overclock- Advice

E6400
3Gb Ram- Corsair value select
Asus P5B Vanilla
Sythe Ninja cooling

Did a first O/C at 2.8 ghz and it looked OK according to the Site I used so bumped it to 3.0Ghz

Temps seem quite high but after some googling, it might be ok

any advice?
does this o/c look ok?
2.8 was at about 50 degrees C idle, 62 under load
this is 54 idle, 65 load (speedfan shows 70 under main cpu temps but the individuals are about 65 per core.

Are the RAM timings OK?

You get 53 on idle? That seems a little warm, but its fine.

Yeah, i haven't ran for 12hrs or anything, but under the dual stress test after 30mins it was mid 60s

TBH, i did 2.8 under stock intel fans then got a Ninja and it hasn't really dropped much. is 3ghz too much?

My e6420 used to do 3.1ghz on stock intel HSF with 37-40 degrees idle and 51 degrees max load. Now i use a noctua cooler though.

Are you sure your ninjas seated correctly?

i've give it a Wobble, and it seems secure but it did take few goes to get "in there"

the temps have always seemed a bit high but a few P5B standard review have said the board gives high readings...??

Those temperature look very high for an E6750 under a Ninja, even with a moderate overclock on. I would have expected Core Temperatures in the high 40's at idle. Are you using a fan on the cooler?

yes, fan is on
my stock fan was idle at about 36 with no O/C
the ninja only dropped by about 1-2 degrees

i've read somewhere that the pop pins on ninja aren't v good so some people are using a screw bracket. can't remember where i saw it tho!
