right then guys, i realised that folding with the 5850 is a waste of time becuase it gets very hot for little points

ive overclocked my 2500k and the points have gone from 9.5K to 17.5K ppd

i overclocked from 1.2V to 1.28V

from 3.3ghz to 4.5ghz

what i dont understand is: (4.5/3.3)*9,500 = 13,000 not 17,500

it seems as though the ghz are doing more now per ghz than before - can this be right?

Because you're using an SMP-based client where the points are higher the quicker the return, over-clocking has a non-linear improvement. I read once that a 15% speed increase results in a 25% increase in PPD. But I guess it's all relative to the starting point.

Just to tick you off about having bought a 2500K, a 2600K at 4.6GHz running -bigadv is getting between 23K and 45K depending on the big units available. :)
