Hi all. Well I've just done 2 Overclocks. One failed and one is OK.

The first one I did was using the Asus TurboV EVO utility on my P8P67 Pro. I just clicked the Fast Overclock button. The machine rebooted with an Over clock of 4326MHz.

I then did a second Overclock following the guide in Custom PC. This gave me an Overclock of just over 4600MHz.

On running Prime95 Worker #4 failed after a couple of minutes then the machine shut itself down.

On reboot it had the Asus TurboV EVO Overclock back.

Now I'm not greedy and I'm happy enough with 4326MHz.

CPU-Z reports 4326MHZ with a Core Voltage of 1.288.

Is this considered to be OK ?

I've now been running Prime95 for 90 minutes and the CPU temperature is steady at 55.0 'C with the very occasional spike to 56.0 'C.

Are these temps OK. Ambient room temp is 21.2 'C and MB temp is 27 'C

Would it be safe enough to run like this all the time ?

The settings in Custom PC that failed were :

By All Cores - 45
Memory Frequency - 1600
CPU Voltage - 1.3
Dram Voltage - 1.65
VCCSA Voltage - 1
VCCIO Voltage - 1.10625
CPU PPL Voltage - 1.9
CPU Spread Spectrum - Disabled

Case
Cooler Master Cosmos S with 3 roof exhaust, front and bottom intake fans.
Corsair Vengence 2x4GB
Corsair 850HX
Corsair H70

i was under the impression that the i2500 could not overclock welll... as in like 5-10% tops because of intel limiting them... how are u getting 4.3 ghz?

I think the reason why the Custom PC suggest overclock is the fact that not all CPUs are created equal. Some 'batches' require less or more vcore for a OC.
