Recieved the gear in my sig yesterday and seeing as everyone says the E6300 overclocks like crazy I thought I would have a go.

Stock volts, FSB 400 with the 7 multiplier running at 39-40 idle in TAT and 50-51 100% load in TAT. Stable in Orthos for 1 hour. Ram running 1:1 800mhz 5,5,5,18 (motherboard auto settings) and +0.3v dimm.

What are the best timings for that ram? I set them manually to 4,4,4,12 and +0.3v but i had an error in orthos after only 3 mins so i set them back to Auto and it ran Orthos fine.

I still have room to clock the chip as far as temps go but got BSOD at FSB 428...will upping vcore volts slightly help get around this?

Running at 2.8ghz and with the XT at stock, 3dmark05 was 12145.

Hi,

I received my bits on Tuesday, almost exactly what you have, except I went for the Corsair 10th Ann ram and a Tuniq tower.

Currently running at 3290mhz, ram is at 4-4-4-12 and everything is rock steady - temps are around the same as yours for both idle and full loaded. VCore is at 1.4 (well its set to auto in the bios and this is what CPU-Z shows me), hopefully a bit more tweaking and I might be able to squeeze a few more Mhz out of it :)

I have the same ram as you hardc0re_tid, but when i tried 4,4,4,12 last night i had errors in Orthos...but i had increased the vcore to 1.3625. I will try it again at those settings with the vcore on auto/normal and see what happens!

If you have the Geil Ultra Low Latency RAM PC-6400 then the RAM should run timings of 4-4-4-12 @ 400 FSB as if you set the memory multiplier in BIOS to x2 then your RAM would be running at 2x400Mhz (800Mhz DDR2 Rate) which is the manufacturers stock speed. I have the same ram and had to loosen timings to 5-5-5-15 once I went over 450FSB (900Mhz RAM speed)

Manually set ram to 4,4,4,12 with +0.3volts dimm and left the vcore on "Normal" setting - seems stable enough. Looks like plenty of room left for more too with the temps as they are.

Clicky!

Yes, i left it on the Auto setting (1.325v).

Upped FSB to 444 now and still stable.

Clicky

impressive, im goign to change my case before i go any further, temps are a tad more than i want, ok 2.8ghz @ 58c both cores full load isnt bad but i want lower but my thermaltac shark isnt up to the job (was am impulse buy) :p gonna see if i can get high 40's load. going to change to an antec 900 with all fans full pelt lol, the noise doesnt bother me
