Ok so this is my first time overclocking.
Ive got a Celeron D 347 (3.06GHz) with standard fan/heatsink.
Im using a asus p5pl2 mb.

It has overclocking profiles in the bios so slowly went up (5,10,15,20,30%) testing inbetween with prime95 while keeping an eye on the temps in speedfan and using throttlewatch.
At full load with prime runing the cpu temp kreeps upto about 55C-57C and at idle runs about 38C-40C and never seems to go above 45C with anything i throw at it normaly.
Ive read that the max runing temp for the celeron 347 is 68C so im wondering if its safe at these temps?

I wanted to go abit further aswell so turned off the overclock profiles and set it to manual
I left everything alone (mostly all set to auto) apart from the cpu bus speed. With the 30% overclock profile it was set to 173MHz (693MHz fsb cpu-z tells me). Ive slowly went up (again testing in between) and got it to 193MHz (772MHz fsb). The cpu temp with prime running tops out about 57-58C.

So i just thought before i go any further id ask some advice LOL

Oh and the Celeron is runing at 4.44GHz (3.99 when using the 30% profile) thats why ive stopped for advice aswell, i dont really have a clue if this is good or not :p

thats a pretty good overclock, how long can it run prime 95 for? you might want to try a good few rounds of memtest too. The temps are a little on the high side but they should be fine, im not sure how hot celerons run at stock anyway.
