Hey Guys

New to this forum.

First PC build after mainly being an old school console gamer.

Last pc game played was BF2142 circa 2006.

So saw pre builds and almost put an order in about one company that was until I saw the reviews online.

Having researched a bit i saw some good reviews on another company and with their configurator, 5 years warranty and customer service which was spot on I have placed an order with them.

I would appreciate your opinions good or bad.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D AM5 Processor
MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte B650M AORUS ELITE AX ICE AMD Motherboard
MEMORY: Kingston FURY Beast RGB 32GB (2x 16GB) 6000MT/s
STORAGE: 2TB Kingston NV3 M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe SSD
VIDEO CARD: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER AERO 12GB OC GPU
CASE: Lian Li O11 Vision Mid Tower Case - White
POWER SUPPLY: 850W ASUS Prime Modular 80 Plus Gold PSU

COOLING 1: Corsair iCUE LINK LX140 RGB 140mm PWM Starter Kit of Two Fans in White

MONITOR: iiyama G-Master GCB3480WQSU Red Eagle 34" UWQHD VA monitor

Total cost £2,700 incl shipping

Intentions are built for general purpose with gaming a major part (obviously) - COD / Simulation and some video editing.

I have also tried to make this aesthetically as good and not just performance.

Views and thoughts welcome.

Mike

No not pre-built, just what I have put together. I wouldn’t trust myself putting it together either!

In relation to the NVME does it have to state DRAM and if so any suggestions.

Budge wise is there or thereabouts, wouldn’t want to spend any more really, maybe £100-200 max.

Yes had a look around at prebuilds but I’d say, controversially maybe, that part of the build (50%) was aesthetics also - as white as possible really.

The Lian Li O11 Vision case, imho, being one to show off the build as best as possible.

I don’t think I will be using all components to the max.

I have asked to await the 9800X3D for later this week and see if they can get hold of it and at what cost comparative to the 7800X3D (£535.88).

Hey guys so I’m rethinking the whole build from the advice given here, which I really appreciate.

I am still trying to achieve a purely white build with good RGB lighting in a case that really shows that off.

I probably will also opt for Oled wide screen 34” rather than VA / IPS.

Budget wise as stated £2,800 max really.

I’m going to review all the builds suggested here but if there are deals on or pre-builds worth a look at I’d be glad of any assistance.

Also is it worth waiting til Jan or is there not much difference?

Cheers

Made contact with them, still awaiting a reply though.

Contemplating the ‘Creeper` as is due to the lack of availability of the 9800x3d - I’m assuming the `Creeper` is fixed and can’t be altered?

so I’ve heard back OCUK who have advised this build.

Lian Li O11 Vision - White
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D Eight Core 5.20GHz (Socket AM5) Processor - Retail
Asrock X870 Pro RS WIFI (Socket AM5) DDR5 ATX Motherboard
Kingston FURY Beast RGB 64GB (2x32GB) DDR5 PC5-44800C32 6400MHz Dual Channel Kit
Asus GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER Dual EVO OC 12GB GDDR6X PCI-Express Graphics Card -W Crucial T500 2TB NVMe PCIe 4.0 M.2 Solid State Drive
Lian-Li SP750W SFX Modular 80 Plus Gold Power Supply - White
COO-TLR-02666 Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE A-RGB 1 White CPU Cooler - 120mm
SW-18K-MS Microsoft Windows 11 Pro 64-Bit DVD - OEM 1 (FQC-10528)

Total price - £2,292.

In contrast to this pre built, what are your views?

Total price - £2,199.

It looks to me, not expert in the slightest their build is much better for similar price? Or am I missing something.

Ideally I’d want the aesthetics like the prebuilt but not sure on how many fans are included on the build by OCUK?

Again, thanks for help

Yh definitely.

Awaiting their reply on the final look / fan situation.

Then hopefully get it built!

However I am aware the issues with sourcing the 9800 at the moment :/

Thanks for all the info

Having looked at Antec I am really liking the C5 case with the additional fans as standard.

So keeping the 9800x3d how would you spec this case?

Again, key for me is as white as possible with performance close 2nd.

I’m not sure how much of the above would be compatible with this case so again lean on you guys that know your stuff better than I do.

I will then submit the spec that’s the best to OCUK to build.

Happy to leave out the Windows Pro and obtain elsewhere.

The advice in two separate HD is also helpful so yes a 2TB and a 1TB is what I would probably go for too. 64gb RGB RAM also.
