Hi all, just woundered if u take a look at what im thinking of building...Im one of these that like to have more than what i need although id like to say it couls beat ps3:P lol. This will be the first time i have built one and can u give me any tips of what to look out for ect.

3.3gh intell processor with 6mb cash (Dual core or quad core ?)
4gb 1333hmz ram
500gb 32mb buffer hardrive
750watt powersuply
Asus 1024mb GTX 280 graphics card
Blue ray Rw Drive
Motherboard to suite - Any idears ?
Windows vista ultimate( 32 bit or 64 bit ?)

Ive added it all up and it comes to 1500 with a case....So let me know what u think please.

What are you going to be using it for?
Id recomend a P45 chipset M/B
Personally Id just stick with PC8500 DDR2 RAM, much cheaper and much better price/performance ratio
Make sure you get a decent make PSU - OCZ, Corsair, Enermax
Get 64 bit Vista, 32 bit cant see or make use of more than 3 gig of RAM, at the prices DDR2 is at you can get 8 gig for less than £100
You could wait for windows7 but imo it will be as hated as vista was when it first came out, all new O/S releases are full of glitches, I never buy a new O/S until the first SP has come out, stick with Vista 64 bit - but thats just my opinion

Im going to be using it for games but want it to handle what ever i throw at it. Any pointersto buildin a pc or is it just match the bits and stick it together lol...What do u think about Dual core and quad core any difference?

Dont start that debate, lol
You'll have people argue both ways, thing is no one knows what is going to happen in the future
At the moment there are very few (precisely 1 I believe - GTAIV) games that utilise more than 2 cores so I'd personally recomend a dual core, its cheaper runs cooler and you can get higher clock speed on it
