Hi guys I am just in the process of specing up a gaming rig so that i can run the newest gaming titels and upcoming titles at MAX settings or near enough on a 1920x1080 monitor (Or similar resolution maybe slightly higher)

I know basics about this type of thing and have read various posts to see what works together and what is good and what isnt so I was wondering if anyone could offer me any help and advice on the components i have chosen.

Also if anyone who change components hopefully for a lesser cost as I would rather spend less than this!

Many thanks Guys

I'd swap the mobo and CPU cooler for this and I'd save some further penny's by going with this PSU and maybe get a different GFX card. The difference you should make by making these two changes should cover you to get one of these instead.

Here's some stats of an ordinary 480 vs 560ti. The one i've linked to is a SOC so should be even better.

EDIT:

Saying that, even going for the standard 480 would be cheaper and you get a couple of free games!

Also, try and spend the extra £6 or so for the retail i5 2500k, get a longer warranty.

Cheers for the help guys I have also been considering this setup which I have found pre setup as a consideration and with the price i would be saving I could add a bluray and SSD

CIT Saturn Gaming Case
Corsair CX 500W PSU
i5 2500k
Artic 7 Freezer CPU Cooler
4GB Corsair DDR3 XMS3 1600MHZ Ram
Sony Optiarc 20x DVD RW

Asus P8P67-M
GTX 560Ti Fermi

For £650 (and extra £20 P&P)

You think this is worth it as i will be OC'in the GPU and CPU myself and with the £150 i save i could spend it adding extra's?

Again that's got a 560ti in it buddy. I'd honestly rather spend the extra making sure I got a 570 as above like Stulid sugests or go for a 480GTX or a bit more for the 480 GTX SOC.

The 560 really isn't that great.

I thought the 560ti was pretty good especially when OC'd?

Ye I did look into flashing a 6950 into the 6970 for the small extra cash.

The other cards are kinda out of my price range though and due to me only playing at 1920x1080 do i really need the extra power of the other GPU's?

I do want to use the system playing newest games for at least a year though (at near enough MAX)

The 560Ti can OC to 570 levels, if you're fairly good with OC'ing graphics cards and you get a decent model, but I'd still be tempted to go for the flashed 6950- you might even be able to overclock it even further.

Provided you don't really care about maxing AA though (anything above 4x makes a minimal difference at best, but it eats GPU power like nothing else), a £100 5850 will actually be plenty enough for your needs. A flashed 6950 2GB, or a 560Ti, or anything else mentioned are all super-uber-power overkill, to be honest.

I would go for the 560 Ti Twin Frozr probably (I have seen over 1GHZ documented, so i reckon 950Mhz would be doable, using the MSI software)

I just am wary gettin the other cards due to the the cost of them even though they are far better.

Is it only the revision 1 cards that can be flashed? I thought the sapphire 6950's were the easiest to flash?

Ah many thanks stulid will take that into consideration as I would rather get the 560 instead of the 6950 in that case, as I dont think I will need the 2GB of the 6950 as I will only be using one monitor for gaming.

Will look into the 480 though but what does it OC like and I have read it is very noisy card?

That costs £250 which is far more than I would be willing to pay for a GPU if I am honest as I would rather get the 560Ti Twin Frozr for £70 less

True, it does, a standard design GTX480 is £199.99 but getting really hard to find at that price.
