I have just discovered JAlbum and set up my first website at:

www.digitaldazzlers.com

What other template based software can you recommend for creating such sites, if any? This is my first attempt and I suppose there are thousands of websites out there using the same template. It would be nice for the site to have it's own unique look and feel.

Thanks.

Cheers Dazzlercee,

I'm d/ling JAlbum as I type this. I've never dabbled in this before though-is it easy to set up/get it online?

Your site is looking good too

Danza - JAlbum is very simple and each skin/template offer varying degrees of customisation such as colours, watermarks, logos, borders etc.

A nice looking, efficient site can be set up in minutes and uploaded to your web space. To get your site online you will need some personal webspace. I use FlashFXP to upload the files although JAlbum does have an inbuilt system.

Cheers,

I do have some personal webspace already, I just can't remember how much!

I'll look into it soon though, I want to get myself a website up and running!

Seems I only have 50mb webspace through my ISP (I doubt that's enough)!

Wheres the best place to get free web space - is there anywhere?

/edit:

Just looked and I have 100mb with my old Tiscali PAYG dial up account. Maybe that's enough?

Looks good, they've come a long way from when I was using a HTML Web Album Generator!

Always like to make my own now though :)

At the moment my gallery/site is less then 9MB. 50MB should be ample.

Yep. :)

You need to remember most of the photos you put on your site will be 800x600 approx. size so will only take up a maximum of 200KB. That way even a small amount of webspace goes a long way. :)

Guess mine needs a tidy up then, 930Mb at the moment ;)

Great website. Looks really nice and clean. Great images too :D Well done!

Think I'll give this software a go, I've tried Porta but it seems to not display well in some browsers
