I finally got my lovely canon 100mm f2.8 macro this morning! Unfortunatly the curse of work got in the way but now I've had the chance to take my first real macro shots.

I will say one thing about shooting macro, my god is it hard to focus! All that rocking around and trying to hold the camera steady at the same time is a nightmare! Used the tripod a bit but hand holding is a lot more fun!

Thank you! I was very pleased with how the water one came out too. Was trying to grab a picture of the spider who inhabited the web but think i annoyed him slightly with my water spraying!

This macro lark does feel a bit like the lazy mans option. No one trapesing up mountains at silly hours to get those sunrise shots, no risking life and limb wondering around at town at night (possible exageration) just wonder outside into the garden and your're on location!

Really want to get a 1:1 of my cats' eye but he's not playing ball. I think the roll of sticky tape may come into play to help get this shot!

Wow! Makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside reading all your comments! Especially seeing as these were the first shots i've done of this type. I really don't know what to say :)

aww very touching.. Get any pictures from that ?

I didnt even bring my camera! My thinking was that i always end up spectating these events taking pictures and not getting involved as much as i should. They were good friends and they'd hired someone to take pictures so i thought i'd relax and enjoy the evening.

It was fantastic a fantastic night, but there were many occasions i wished i had my slr.
