Just built my new rig yestersay and have been playing around. Managed to get 3.0 prime stable on stock voltages (1.275) Just tried 3.1 but not stable, upped the vcore 1 notch but still not stable so I'll have another crack at it later.

Impressed with this CPU already, temps are 40c on load! Niiiice.

That's pretty good, had to knock my vcore up to 1.38 to get Orthos stable @ 3200Mhz. What HSF are you using?

You should be able to get to 3.4GHz with a bit of experimenting, but expect the voltage to be 1.45 - 1.5 volts based on the other posts/forums I've read. Temps rise accordingly too - mine currently gives off 35-37c idle, 55-65c video encoding and games and up to 78c with Orthos.

The highest clocks I've read about with the 2180 on air are 3.6GHz but a big cooler is needed.

What are you using to test for stability

I'm using Prime95 (orthos for some reason, doesn't like vista 64) same thing though. Also running SuperPi at the same time. I'm only giving it an hour or so, when I get to a speed I like, i'll run an all-nighter to make sure.
I managed to get 3.1 stable by cranking up vcore to 1.3. Tried 3.15 and needed to raise vcore to 1.37 to get it stable (just an hour or so on prime). Screenie below:

Temps are 50c. I see some people running at like 65c. What do you reckon is a safe temp?

Mine runs prime 95 and canget to 67C on a hot day. But when do I use this in real life? never so its fine, as gaming on load it doesnt go about 52C

Your ram is not running at the correct timings if its the Geil ULL stuff. Should be 4,4,4,12 but you will need to set the spd manually in the bios along with 2.1v for the memory.

Very nice chip you got there tho :)

I know, I was leaving it loose until I've seen what the CPU can do. I've set them tighter now.

I managed to hit 3.3 with i think 1.45vCore. I was running 2x Prime (one for each core) and it was at 67c with the case side off. It was quite hot in the room, but it's still a little on the hot side for me. I might just back it back down to 3.2 and leave it at that for now. Quite a big jump from 3.2 to 3.3. 1Gig overclock aint bad :)

And a 1.2Ghz overclock even better :)
