Hi everyone, first off, love the idea with the mafia ranking,i feel at home! i`m Sicilian :D .Anyway,i was planning on buying a dual core bundle from this site, but funds have taken down turn.So i`m stuck with my current setup.I have decided to upgrade the memory as i`ll be stuck with this setup until at least March :( , these are the specs

Asus PTGD1-LA Motherboard (socket LGA775) micro ATX
P4 3.4Ghz hyperthreading
1Gig of RAM 2x 512 (infineon) whatever that is!!
ATI X1900XT-X Gfx Card
Western digital Caviar 250 Gig
Samsung Spinpoint 250 Gig
Akasa 460Watt PSU

I need to know which is the best available RAM (2Gig) for this setup please, it has to be DDR not DDR2 (or so i`ve been told),and from Overclockers site.I know!!, my system ain`t that great. But as i said , i`m stuck with it for a while yet.Any help /advice would be great. Thanks :)

It will most likely be later than march i`m affraid, but i intend to build a completely new system, the one i have at the moment will be going to my Brother,he won`t be upgrading it ,so i don`t mind buying him good quality RAM.I found this regarding what the board supports,

so,based on that, any suggestions?,as it`s for my Brother,i guess i`ll stretch to the best available  , i want to make it as good as i can for him.On the subject of overclocking, yes, i plan to overclock my new build, hopefully with some help from you guys.I`ve bought from overclockers for ages, great company, and a great forum for back up.

The system was originally a compaq sr1180uk the only thing left from the original is the mobo and memory. After a bit of thinking, maybe i`d be better buying him a DDR2 Mobo and some DDR2 memory?,can you guys tell me the best option for a motherboard and DDR2 memory.I will be using the p4 CPU from the existing Mobo,it doesn`t have to be a micro ATX board because i`m using a brand new Soprano Case. I might as well make it a Christmas present for him,so, let`s say, £400 budget for the Mobo and Memory, whilst taking into account that i`ll be using the P4 CPU that`s already in the existing Mobo. Thanks for the help guys, i really appreciate it :)

Thanks Simon, yes,i`ve built before, but after discovering this forum, and knowing there is backup, i`ve decided to build a really good high end system.I checked on the crucial site for a compatible memory match for the Asus board, choice is very limited i discovered. So,the sensible thing is to bin the Mobo and upgrade i reckon. Thanks again mate :)
