***First 'Proper' Gaming Build for a friend***

My mate wanted me to help with building his new setup, as its the first proper gaming build I've ever done from scratch thought I would see if I could get it looking nice and take some pictures to share with you all

Its not a watercooled modded work of art like a lot of the project logs on here nowadays but I am pretty impressed with it

Anyway onto the build ... The components:

Gigabyte Z97X-UD3H-BK Motherboard
Devils Canyon Core i7 4790K CPU
KFA2 GeForce GTX 970 OC Silent "Infin8 Black Edition"
Avexir Venom Series 16GB (2x8GB) Dual Channel Kit
Corsair Carbide 540 High Airflow ATX Case
EVGA SuperNova G2 750W power supply
Corsair Hydro H110 Liquid CPU Cooler
Crucial BX100 250GB SSD
3xAlpenfohn Wing 140mm Fans
Bitfenix Alchemy Cable Bundle


Took a few hours to build earlier today but she is now up and running, started first time too which is always a bonus

Then there is the 'ugly' side ....

Finally all lidded up and running

All went smoothly he hasn't had time to do any gaming yet to really test it, temps are both idling at 30 degrees which seems perfect

love the green BUT i would have used white lighting so it brings out the green cables and fan, the green lighting just overpowers all the colours

I agree with Flame. White would have set the PSU and fans off nicely.

But lovely looking build, makes me want one of these cases more and more!!

green is just the colour that my mate wanted ... He can always swap it for a white one if he fancies didn't actually stick the strip in place anyway...

The case is a dream to build with really enjoyed it and it looks really nice too

Ah fair enough. That is very true.

Does it look as wide in person as it looks in pictures?

Yeah it looks pretty wide actually , its hard to say, what do you call wide , I think it's perfect but maybe that's just personal preference

Well my current case is an iPad Air wide (portrait) so i say 2 iPad Air's wide is pretty wide.

I think i need to see one to buy one, i'm thinking of every reason not to buy one

Haha I see ...

if I had the money I'd buy one just to swap my current setup into it , really is a nice case , easy to remove dust filters from the front too to clean, mines a nightmare

Does it not have measurements on the ocuk website ?

Nice ! Think my next setup will go under water hopefully ... looking forward to seeing the 390x when it comes out might sell my 2 270x's to get one
