I will be creating my first proper PC within the next few weeks. It won't be anything spectacular, no coolant system (yet). Just a nice home PC that will run some of my accounts software and invoicing, and games/movies during my rest time.

Entry 1: 09/08/2012

Ordered the components from OcUK, awaiting delivery tomorrow at some point. Never used DPD before, but as long as they are more reliable than City Link then I won't have any grievances. Oh, and here's the giblets that will be rearranged into a working build.

The 5 components that I ordered have arrived, delivery arrived within the stated time slot. Very happy with DPD delivery, which is much better than any delivery company I have had dealings with in the past.

Without further ado, the pictures of the bits!

Ignore the turtle hiding under the blankets. And yippee, sweeties! Will order the CPU, mainboard and case tomorrow (hopefully) if the crap company that I ordered a laptop with reimburse my account. :)

Entry 3: Unit is now complete. All wires are in place, all that's left is to install windows and all the drivers. Had a little hiccup with the PSU, which only came with a 2 pin wall plug. OCuK soon sorted the problem though, many thanks for the assistance! And made a mistake with the cpu, ordered the OEM version which I expected to come with a cooler. A quick google told me that only the retail one does. Oops. :o A quick foray into the shed soon provided a Xigmatec cpu cooler and a brand new tube of TIM, which cheered me up. Will post pictures of it all later. :)
