This morning I got up and booted up my vista, to be met with no internet. Had nothing to do with my isp as it was working fine on my laptop running xp.

The only thing it could have been was last night I was setting up networking. Seems there is problems using networking on vista. I couldnt even get into my router. Very strange indeed.

Happily though, im back up and running, having used system restore on vista.

Hmm, *you* had a problem with your network - therefore there are "problems with networking" in Vista.

I doubt it.

Have you even read the threads in this forum, about problems people are having re networking in vista?

I doubt it.

I had the same problem when I first installed vista. The only way I could connect to the internet was by using these settings

I couldnt connect to any shared drives or folders from my vista pc, when im using my laptop wich has xp on. Until eventually, I had to manually run the ip, and then put in username/password everytime. Bizzare.

Tsk Tsk. Unhelpful posters need not reply

Back to the subject at hand, bump.

I'm still probably with rich - I've got Vista on 4 pcs, XP on 3pcs, Server 2003 on 2pcs and haven't had a single networking issue whatsoever. Most are joined to the domain, but at least two aren't.

It's likely driver or user related.

not got any problems here either

a programme you installed must have changed something

either that or you or somebody else with access to your system did

Networking has worked right out of the box and has continued to for me.

Dont know whats going on with me then. I never encountred these problems with xp before.
