In my Brain...
Taking an evening class at the moment to improve photographing things on this planet as I usually only do Astro. These are some of the first shots I've taken.

Would appreciate comments of stuff I'm doing wrong, although also feel free to comment on any good bits if any, heh :p

Gear used:

Nikon D700
Nikon 50mm f/1.4G
Nikon 17-35mm f/2.8D

No one have any criticism on anything?

Looking for some pointers on my framing, exposure, post and just general balance/feel of the image.

More general photography experience/skill. I've got a fair bit of experience in Asto imaging but never really learnt any general photography so I booked onto a few week basic evening tog course and took the above on one of the outings.

I've been learning about focal planes, exposure balance, metering, ratio's and the hyperfocal point and the outing was an attempt to try and put what I've learnt so far into use.

Really just want some general pointers on things like WB, framing of the shot (should I have cropped it), composition (does the shot make for nice looking), sharpness, does the colours look right and am I using Lightroom properly (I can drag the milky way out of heavy light pollution, but not so good on general stuff)

4. The writing doesn't really make much sense in the flesh, was playing with spot metering and thought it came out ok.

6. This was an experiment with spot meeting to get a beam of light effect which I think looks quite nice if you ignore the cheesy big red thing hanging from the ceiling and getting in the way of the shot.

7. I think you're right and it's definitely wonky not really sure how to straighten/crop it in LR yet so something to practice I guess.
