Looking to buy a first small car, perhaps a Clio, Corsa or Fiat Punto. Price limit of £2500 and then probably about £500 insurance for a 21 year old female. Any recommendations?

Regards

Moss - My micra says "Micrasportsclub.co.uk" on the rear window, does yours? :p

A focus? Thought that'd be a bit over the price limit?

You could squeeze in a (reasonable) 1999/2000 1.6 LX or Zetec...just.

lol, no it doesnt, but I know a few that do, and quite a few of the people off there.

edit: and when I did have one, it still didnt have on the rear window :p

I’ve got a 2000 W plate Fiesta Zetec 1.25 16v, picked it up almost 2 years ago for £2899 with 30k on the clock, still runs perfectly and I have had no problems with it, my first years insurance was £560 ( was 22). I’m sure you can pick them up even cheaper now and the insurance will be lower for her also.

Been a great first car for me.

Focus I think will be very hard to find for £2.5k unless its a white estate with a diesel engine and 215,000 miles. I'd recommend the Fiesta definately, but only if you STAY AWAY from the 1.3, get the 1.25. This is definatley ideal as a first car and I'd say is way better than a Punto or Clio.

Your best bet would be a Yaris for reliability, but a Fiesta will be a better drive. You'll probably find a Fiesta will be newer / have fewer miles price for price than a Yaris.

A Ford Ka might be worth looking at. Never driven one but they're might to be a lot of fun.
