It was 1971 if memory serves and I was a nipper in the city of Dublin.

My first memory of music was the big hit of the time. Chirpy chirpy cheep cheep by Middle of the road.

Which do you remember as your first song?

i only remember the line

"Hot dog, jumping frog, albuquerque"

1980`s i think.
 
Couln't possibly say which was my first, but I have a lot of memories of long car journeys listening to a mixture of Mowtown, Elvis and the Beatles.

My most vivid memory is listening to Brothers In Arms by Dire Straits with my dad when I was probably about 5 or 6 :)
 
ABBA's repertoire, Madonna's Like a Prayer, Bon-Jovi's Living on a Prayer, Mr Big's To Be With You... basically all the stuff my dad or half-brothers used to play when I was little.
 
My first recollection of music comes from the first Christmas I can remember (1976). I remember "When A Child is Born" by Johnny Mathis, "Don't Give Up On Us Baby" by David Soul, and "Under The Moon Of Love" by Showaddywaddy ( I begged my dad to buy the single for me).

That was a week before my 4th birthday.
 
Mine was Wooden Heart by Elvis Presley.
Apparently I used to be dragged around Workingmens Clubs as a very young nipper singing it to old folk.
The first song that had a major impact on me was when I was 12 and I heard Ride A White Swan by T.Rex.
 
First thing that ever got me interested in music was the Yellow Submarine movie. Of course, at five years old I loved Yellow Submarine, When I'm Sixty-Four and All Together Now due to their simplistic McCartney melodies and bob-along lyrics. As I grew older I found more merit in the other tracks - mainly the George Harrison ones - It's Only A Northern Song, It's All Too Much etc. I still love the film and all the songs. Very special movie to me, that.
 
The first song I got on tape was Scatman John - I'm a Scatman, I remember going round to my next door neighbours and him taping it for me. That was in 1994. So i would have been 4/5 i think.
