First stand alone flash.. What do I need?

Looking to get a yn600ex soon but got a feeling from reading that I need a receiver and transmitter for off cam

Would this be the yn622c and yn622c TX?

Im also guessing I'd need some sort of pole to mount said flash on?

Get 2 600exrt and use one as transmitter.

It comes some plastic feet which you can use to place it on tables, or the underside of the feet has a tripod screw thread.

Ah so the flash on the camera hot shoe can act exactly like a transmitter?

Does it have to fire to trigger the others?

No, you can use it without the flash part going off.

As Ray says, each 600EX can act as a transmitter or receiver, but if you always want the hot shoe side to stay dark you can save a bit of cash/weight/bulk and get a YN-E3-RT or ST-E3-RT to stick on the camera, which is just the transmitter/receiver part without the flash head.

They take 2 batteries instead of the 4 needed for each flash. I think the YN version has an AF-assist lamp that sort of works, ish... And if I remember rightly, the ST (Canon) version doesn't have the lamp.
