First switch on after build

I have build my computer and plugged everything in and i am ready to turn it on for the first time.

I am wondering how I go about this as I need to install windows as well.

I am using an overclocked bundle if that makes any difference.

I am sure that everything is but as this is my first build I am paranoid about getting it wrong. Is there anything that I can do to check it is right?
 
Ive turned it on and nothing popped everything is spinning/doing what it should. Have I survived or is there still a risk something could happen?
 
I ordered win 7 from the internet as part of their student deal. I requested a disc as i was going to install it onto a new computer so couldnt download it. The product key that they supplied is coming up as incorrect. what can I do?
 
Can you point me in the right direction to contact them? I cant find the part i need. One bit was saying i need to pay 50 quid to email them!!!!
