Morning guys, well all my gear arrived this morning :D + a few little extras




I will probaly be asking a few questions as I go as this is my first build, but I should be fine heres hoping anyway lol

Right im off to get started expect more pictures soon ;)
 
right question time :)



Currently i have my titan pulling air away from the heatsink and venting through the top fan, would i be better flippin the fenrir round and the fan so that it pushes through the fins and out of the case?

Side note, will do cable tidying after i know it all works



anyone want to tell me where this goes? It come out of the PSU with the 20/24pin ATX cable, but i cant seem to figure out where it goes?



Right i know i have to put something in here, but ive got two cables that i think can go in here. Ive got a p4 12v connector 4 pin and a ESP connector 6 pin which one should go in there?

EDIT: Can i daisy chain all the 1200's case fans together and plug them into one power lead or am i better putting them all onto seperate power leads?

And at matthew dont worry i didnt forget the standoffs ;)

1. if you have air going in the front then i would leave it

2. that cable from the psu is the fan monitor, some mobos has a slot for this, check the manual

3. the 12v goes there

4. you can do, not sure if its a wise idea tho...
 
Right some more pics,

GPU is now in

daisy chained case fans




right ive got 3 together to 2 molex connectors the 2 back fans and top exhaust to one molex. and the 3 HDD bays fans together on another molex.
will they work like this?

I've got pretty much everything connected now apart from the black and white cable that comes from the PSU (see previous post for pic)
I still cant figure out where this goes, any help guys?

I'd turn the Fenrir round, it's blowing hot air onto the back of your graphics card.

The PSU fan cable is not necessary, just leave it hangin.

no I have the fenrir pulling fan from the heatsink and venting through the top of the case, so hot air isnt going near my card.

ok I will ignore the PSU fan cable :)

I have also added another power cable and put the case fans on seperate connectors.


couple more questions.

On the PSU the EPS and 4 pin Connectors are still empty, does anyting need to be plugged into these?

yeah the fan should be oriented to push air through the fins, and it should push it either to the back or the top of the case where it can be immediately exhausted by the case fans
 
Right ive got it all set up and running, sat in bios for a while to see what temps were like ect. The cpu is around 26/27 constantly so thats good for now.

then i tried to install windows 7 from a disc, it said unable to boot from CD please insert bootable device, so i tried my windows xp disc and that worked fine so thought right lets try burning another windows 7 disc.

So i tried to install the OS again but now it just gets stuck on boot from cd/dvd and stays there nothing happens whatsoever

any ideas guys?
 
Its still getting stuck at boot from cd/dvd, just hangs there.

I've looked around on the net and it seems that it can be caused if the HDD is not set to 2nd bootable device, but i have checked and it is. I have tried clearing cmos but to no avail.

Any help guys?
