Hello guys and girls.. ill not mess around I am console gamer looking to convert to pc... I had a budget of 500GBP and I just wanted a gaming rig that would impress me. I was going to buy a steam box for that money but the problems was that it cant be upgraded my budget ideally is 500 to 700 GBP I will build this my self with a friend... I just need help on parts at a max I could stretch to 900 MAX I wont need a monitor as it will be played through hdmi on tv other than that need complete build any help would be appreciated thanks again

Hey sweols thanks for some light on the subject with you saying 5 to 900 is a big stretch.. do you mean low budget?, Would I need more just to beat the performance of a console graphically. I don't really want to throw £1000s at it to realise 6 month down the line I'm just not good enough for it, just wanted a system that was a good Base to start for around a year to 18 months then upgrade parts individual, watercooling would be nice but I know that's pricey so that would be future upgrade too

[QUOTE Something like this will be more than up to the task. You could get a lower end i5 and cheaper mobo. But at least you have some idea as to what you can get for money[/QUOTE]

Thanks idleman would you recommend getting the windows ten on pen drive or try source by other means to put the money into the build? Are the i5 chips still going to hold their own for the next couple of years or would I be better going to an i7 the pc will have no other functions than gaming, as I read more bits online I'm seeing things about bottle necks and how cpu and gpu should not out weigh each other. Thank you for the parts list I'm going to look on pc part picker and see what it comes in at..... also I have looked at ex demo here on OC and at face value to me they seem to be in my budget and good spec under £1k

What games are you planning to play? A 144hz could be a nice addition for around £200, especially if you're going to be playing shooters.

the games will be things like diablo 3 and fallout 4 MMO/RPG i play the usual fps shooters but i get bored of those too soon, i was going to try a fps but down the route of mouse and keyboard unsure of the learning curve there... its all a new experience to me so i was looking to stay away from all the games i have played on console other wise not much point spending the money but the more i look into this i keep reading other forums and it seems my budget is well off point :-( maybe I will have to just go get the £700 steam box and see how i get on.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £969.57
(includes shipping: £20.82)

You can obviously change a few things to save money but 900 is not a bad start.

I don't know why it's adding two keyboards. Tried editing but keeps adding. So not accurate price.. Just bare in mind

Thanks for that I'll go amend the keyboard and remove the screen then i can add a 2nd hdd that should pretty much do it :p:D
